We had taken our baby boy to KL, Malaysia in mid July, and would like to share some experience with you:
(1) Please better go by yourselves, rather than joining guided tour. As you indicated, the gathering time for guided tour is too early, and your baby will not be easily adapt. You also need a lot of time after your baby has waken up (that means, you need to wake your baby up even much more early than the normal gathering time).
(2) Better bring some toys and food that your baby like very much to the tour. Give them to him/her when he/she is bored and unhappy.
(3) We slept with our baby in the double bed, and he slept in the middle. Althernatively, you may consider placing the large sofa to the side of your bed, and let your baby to sleep on the sofa (as he/she is sleeping beside you, he/she will not be easily fallen on the ground).
(4) It should be the greatest problem. For my baby boy who was already 19 months in July, he refused to eat baby food anymore. Therefore, he should eat what we ate at that time. One necessary food is to ask a bowl of rice for him/her, to make sure he/she is not hungry.
