There shouldn't be any difference even if the weather is cold. I remember last year I took the temp. when it was really cold outside, but my temp rose very high.
I'm also taking temps now, but the weather doesn't seem to affect the temps.
I suggest that you buy a cheaper one to compare to the thermometer you're using right now. Maybe buy a digital at Watson's or Mannings (Omron). Then you can see if there's anything wrong with your thermometer.
