I don't know how to teach you, it seems that the branch at river valley road is not close to any MRT. It cost about S$5 - S$6 to take taxi from Swissotel Stamford hotel to there.
You can also try "Tin Tin chicken rice" at Maxwell Food centre (you will see a very long queue), that food centre also has many other good food. Again, I can say this food centre is not the best but already much better than "Lau Pat Sat" lah.

I've come back from singapore. I stayed in Swissotel the Stamford and it's location is very convenient. MRT is just downstairs. Mevinma, thanks for your suggestion.
Day 1: (22 Dec)
We arrived in Singapore on 22 Dec at 12:45 pm. We took a taxi to the hotel at once and checked in. Afterwards, we went to the CityLink mall and suntec shopping centre. Then we went to Chinatown and had our dinner in Maxwell food centre. It's a pity that we couldn't order TinTin chicken rice because they have already sold out and it's only eight o'clock. For those who want to try TinTin chicken rice, you should go to Maxwell food centre earlier.
Day 2: (23 Dec)
We spent a whole day in Sentosa. My daughter loved it very much. She liked to take the cable car and she walked so much that she slept from nine o'clock pm until the next morning. We had our dinner in Clark Quay. I found that Clark Quay is not very special and the food there is very expensive.
Day 3: (24 Dec)
We spent a whole day in the zoo. It's very hot. We had our dinner in Chatterbox in Meritus Mandarin Hotel and tried the chicken rice. Although it's expensive but the environment is very nice and comfortable. I think it's worth. Chatterbox had a lot of christmas decorations and we spent over 1 hour in Chatterbox. My daughter also tried the chicken rice. Afterwards, we had a walk in orchard road to have a feel of the christmas eve in singapore. It's very crowded similar to HK's nathan road.
Day 4: 25 Dec
We went to Merlion park and Esplanade in the morning. Then we checked out. In the afternoon, we went to the Jurong bird park. At 6:00pm, we took the flight back to HK.
Four days in singapore is not enough. I had not visited all the places. Five days may be better. I really enjoyed the trip in singapore and I'm so happy that it's not so difficult to travel with my daughter. The most important is my daughter also enjoyed the trip and she's so happy. I plan to take my daughter to another trip again in the coming Easter.
I was at River View Hotel for lunch this time when back.
The hotel is quite off from the main areas of Orchard or Suntec City etc. However, it is still reachable by taxi from Orchard Road - about 5-8 minutes. It is also near to Great World City, a shopping mall.
Preferably, get a hotel in Orchard Road - Crown Prince, Mandarin. Or hotel near to Raffles City - Carlton, Rendezvous.
