Hi Chingchingfa,

We are going to Phuket next Wednesday. The weather forecast shows that the coming week has 50% to be rainny. Do you have any experience in how it will rain. Will it usually rain all day long. Shall we still go to Egg island or safari if it is a rainny day. Please kindly advise. Thanks a lot.

我地一家剛去完20/7回來, 我地5晚都住laguna beach resort, 雨是會有(時大時少)不過落一陣好快又會天晴, 感覺不會好熱, 舒服過香港. 去蛋島船程好大浪, 基本上呢個季節都會係咁, 島上餵魚在岸邊都大浪, 要捉緊小朋友.

As Reginang mentioned. The weather reported it would be rainy but not all day wet. Actually just a few shower occurred only.
During monsoon season, the weather in Phuket is still fine w/ strong wind. And thus, recommend you to check the level of sea wave before booking any sea activities, especially bring w/ small kid, tick Thai Meteorological Department www.tmd.go.th/en/province.php?id=75 and don't trust the travel agent which just say: “OK! No wave, no problem…”

May I know if the sea wave warning is 1-2 metres is suitable for going to Egg Island? I found that the sea condition is always 1-2 metres except a few days with waves more than 2 metres.

1-2 m sea wave is normal. This is slightly higher than Hong Kong to Macau journey. But recommend to eat sea sink medicine before the journey. If you take hi-speed boat, don’t sit in front. The better seats are behind the driver.

If the flight departs at 8:00 am, what time should I arrive at airport? Is it too late if I arrive at 7:00a.m.?

I think you will take TG609, correct? Last time, the flight departed at 8am, and we took taxi and arrived in T2 at 6am. The flight is scheduled to land at HKT at around 11:20am. Try to take the lunch at the restaurant on 2/F, HKT airport. Cheap and
delicious. It managed by Thai Air Caterer.

Mankifiona,
Check in close: 40 mins prior to the departure time.
Gate close: 20 mins prior to the departure time.
But you have to consider if the gate is far from the immigration counter. You have to take the train to the gate. I have an experience in Easter. The flight gate no was 69. We were in security checking and had 35 mins left from departure time. All the way we ran, and we arrived to the gate just in time. Hopefully the flight delayed...

I come back from Phuket is indirect flight, it takes more more time come compare with direct flight.

Same as you, we took TG609 direct to HKT last time. The returned way was indirect also, and we stayed a while in BKK. No surcharge on air ticket and tax. My wife and daughter liked shopping in BKK, it’s good itinerary for them! Of course, you have to consider the current safety in BKK.
TG flight is OK. We had a deep experience about TG. While we checked out from Four Seasons BKK, a staff reminded us a typhoon would attack to HKG and recommended us to cancel the trip but I had to work on the next day…While TG was on the way and closed to HKG, although the flight did not fly smoothly from on flight GPRS info, we did not feel any shaking. After landing HKG, we could see the weather was so bad w/ strong wind and heavy rain from the window. At that moment, the pilot announced: “HK weather is rainy w/ thunderstorm tonight, typhoon No.8 is hoisted, enjoy your trip…” Actually some arrival flights as CI, CX & KA were cancelled.

Is the car pick up arranged by travel agent or by hotel? Seem you will stay in Sheraton Grande Laguna. Right? You could contact them for exact car pick up time…
